Hi all,

The next SGVLUG monthly meeting will be at OpenX in a few weeks. It'll be on Thursday, March 10th, from 7 to 9pm.

Since it is at OpenX, you will need to RSVP.

Please do it early, whether on Meetup or with me directly. We had an impressive turnout last month, but it was more people than I was comfortable with, so I've set the RSVP limit to 50. Once the limit is exceeded, there will be a waitlist.

The deadline is March 8th, at 5pm.

I invited Parker Abercrombie from JPL to reprise his SCALE talk on "A Cloud-based Architecture for Processing 3D Mars Terrain." He's a pretty good speaker and the topic is cool, whether you're into cloud computing (or Jenkins, Amazon Web Services, or Ansible), or you're interested in learning more about augmented or virtual reality and how it is used on Mars missions.

We are continuing our raffle. CarlosL lined up No Starch Press as a sponsor*, so we'll probably have some No Starch books to raffle, among other things. Hackaday donated their 2014 and 2015 Omnibus, which will be raffled as a set.

You get a raffle ticket for showing up. You can acquire more raffle tickets via audience participation. In other words, find us some good Linux in the News. We're also using this as a fundraiser, so you(Or, like at the 20th anniversary party, you can donate $1 per ticket.)

* We would not be able to do some of the cool things we do without our sponsors. Check out sgvlug.org for the list.
