Hi Miguel, and all
Any announcements with regards to Open Source/Linux related conferences, **especially local affordable ones**, are certainly welcomehere. In fact I would strongly encourage the announcements.( at least the ones which members may actually have a chanceto make it to ;)
Please post, and please post them early enough so peoplehave a chance to make plans to visit them ;-)
Anyone going to the conference, IF you find a great speaker there, please ask if they would be willing to present to the SGVLUG.( thanks! )
Also, feel free to post carpooling requests if you like with regardsto conferences. (i.e. contact me if you would like to carpool.. etc.. )
thanksmatti

Thanks Matti!
I didn't wanna 'spam' the group this yr. w/the announcement. Good news is that there's a 'Beginners' track dedicated to all of you who've heard about it & wanna know what all the fuss is about (& to find out why I'm such a fanboy haha). Everything from 'What is Drupal' to 'Understand Hooks' (which is what constitutes Drupal's robust API!). They're the sessions highlighted in green on the schedule page.

There will also be an install-fest to assist newbies in getting a local install setup so you can follow along more easily throughout the weekend.
For those of you who do come out, don't be shy & say hi. :)

cheers,--miguel

Hi!

Just in case you're not at Defcon this weekend, there's

another great event worth checking out:

DrupalCamp LA is the annual FREE conference to unite and improve the Drupal community in Los Angeles and the Greater Southern California Area.

( You’re on your own for parking ($10/day), and lunch )

Drupal is a free open-source content management system (CMS) written in the PHP programming language. DrupalCamps are community sharing + training events for Drupal enthusiasts, especially for newbies.

DrupalCamp LA is now in its fifth year.
