[SGVLUG] [OT] Voting... researching props (in california)

I pretty much finished my read of those pages (or similar pages, didn't
check that we had the same URL) and pretty much came to the conclusion
that none of the propositions really warrant passing, and one at least
one I feel I should abstain as I *know* I don't know enough about the
issue to make an INFORMED choice [P4, parental notification]
P1 got reworked into P1A, and in the process became more generalized [I
believe P1 explicitly intended for a high-speed railway between L.A. and
Sacramento or San Francisco, while 1A shoots for a "high speed railway"
without any specific route]; Measure "R" is a localized version of it
P2 sounds like someone wants to put the opposition out of business, so
they've put forth a proposition that will make things difficult for
their competitor
P7 & 10 are two different ways of attacking the same problem, but they
are "NIMBY" solutions (solar/wind farms out in the desert rather than
point-of-use non-fossil-fuel power generation, e.g., "rooftop solar")
[vague disclaimer to that: I am a regular "user" of BLM land out in the
"desert" that is /already/ under consideration as a solar site -- and
even the residents of the town that includes this land DO NOT WANT to
have a solar site there!]
And almost all the other props want money for their agenda without any
reassurance that what we're "buying" with this money is something that
I/we actually want (or need)...
About the only one that seems worthy in comparison is P11, which shifts
the burden of determining districting from the politicians themselves to
some form of multi-partisan "committee" -- no doubt being on that
"committee" will mean $$$ in your pocket... [wait, did I really infer
they would be susceptible to bribes?] <yeah, I guess I did...>
