Whaddaya mean, FREE?!  Last I heard, ya gotta agree to a to a "no
reverse engineering" clause in some EULA.  That means you agree to not
even READ the program, much less exercise other normal privileges of
ownership, such as modifying it to suit your needs.

 To "reverse engineer" something is to come to comprehend it, so what a
EULA really does is to forbid comprehension.  For this they charge money?!
