[SGVLUG] gpg "refresh-keys"...

Here is one for you pgp/gpg proponents:

Somewhere in my travels through e-mail and such, I ended up with the key
94C09C7F on my "keyring".  When I go to update it, my system hangs -- it
even consumes 100% of one cpu on my dual xeon that I'm using as a server
in the back room.

I did some digging, and found that this key belongs to Peter Palfrader,
who is apparently a major Debian developer.  I suspect this guy has
gajillions of signatures on his "key" -- does anyone know how long it
should take gpg to "refresh" this key?
