Hi, I had no problem installing Drivers for MFC-8850CDW ,  it just took
awhile to figure out the Command  Line (CL) & the Driver Install
instructions that Brother has.
Thank you all for responding. I did not think it would be a conflict  but I
was not sure.

I second the suggestion to avoid using third party drivers, the ones
built into ubuntu usually suffice.

I happen to have a similar brother laser printer here, works good with
ubuntu... the only hard part is the system settings dialogs for
configuring it!

Have you managed to get one of the two printers added to her laptop yet?
