Oh, I see now from the headers on your mails that you're SENDING from
Shellworld.  What is that, some kind of remote shell account provider
accessible via the Internet?  (I'd be interested in that for myself.)

Please describe your LAN.  List all the devices that are connected.  Is
it exclusively ethernet, or is some wireless involved?

Sean's approach is best, because of the visibility and control that it
provides, provided you are prepared to spend the hours and hours needed
to learn about it.  Does your Debian box have a second NIC or can you
scrounge one to plug in?

Sorry, I'm no good at extemporaneous dialog.  I go by this:

   Email is the culmination of communication.  Voice, and all else, if
   done at all, is ephemeral preliminary to the email.  Email provides
   escape from the tyranny of forced extemporization.
