[SGVLUG] old meeting announcements

I just got an email from a new Caltech student who found my name listed
as the contact for when we were having meetings at Caltech. In case
someone wanted to create a list of old meeting announcements for
whatever reason, I would think it should be relatively easy to walk the
old Caltech calendar website to pull this info out.

Not clear on why the numbering seems to jump around but IIRC I would
sometimes clone past meeting announcements and they had gone through a
couple of updates on their web app or something and/or I had to create a
new general announcement which was then cloned for a while.

Strange that it only lists meetings when we were in Downs...

Ah, the above are entries that were created using the SGVLUG "sponsor"
that I had created. If you search for just Linux, you'll find a few
more that Mike Rubel had posted when we were in Guggenheim -- looks like
oct 2003 to oct 14, 2004 but there are gaps where either no one was
submitting to the calendar or they lost data?

mostly continuous until dec 2013

I believe what had happened was Mike graduated but was still able to
submit announcements for a while but then moved on with his life. I now
recall Mike warning people for several months that he was leaving
Caltech. At some point Matti was trying to get access and was able to
submit at least once but then the people running the Caltech calendar
web app decided they would only accept submissions from someone
affiliated with Caltech so I took over in 2005 until I handed the touch
over to James early 2012 who kept it going until the last meeting which
I guess was in Dec 2013.

No sign of any of the meetings from when we were in Moore. Perhaps that
predates current web app. Anyone remember when the first meeting at
Caltech in Moore was and when we moved to Guggenheim?

In any event there's easily 8-9 years worth of meeting announcements
available for harvesting until they flush the old stuff or retire this
system. I think this is a great treasure trove of at least topics we've
covered over the years.

Claude
