[SGVLUG] Book on Linux for Beginners?

Starting with installation and use, very basic, but kind of current. Taking an old XP machine, replacing operating system with Linux, and playing with it without getting into too much trouble. I would have loved to come to your last meeting about this, and to Scale, but have resigned myself to just getting a book now. Thanks!

Are you asking about installation, administration or usage?

 

My first was “Linux Bible” for a general overall knowledge. However as time progressed my questions expanded to more specific use books; programming, administration to security.  and for installation, each distro and specific packages have a wealth of custom manuals for help.

 

That is my opinion.
