Hi all,

One of the things that we heard at the LUG meeting on Thursday is that Pasadena City College (http://www.pasadena.edu) is offering a 16-week Linux scripting course on Saturdays.  It's a weekend class because it's aimed at working professionals.  It covers bash scripting mainly, with sed and awk.

The class is CS18: Unix Scripting with Bash and the instructor is John Segui.  If you care, it is a 4-unit class.  There is a prerequisite that you need to have taken CS 2, which is basically introduction to computers.  It runs from Jan 13th to May 11th.  Lecture will be from 8am to 11:10am.  There is a lab component from 11:20am to 3:30pm.  Lab is when people work on assignments and can get help from the instructor or collaborate with fellow students.

If you're interested, you should obviously enroll in PCC first.  Then you should find out how to challenge the CS2 prerequisite if you've never taken it at PCC.  And you should sign up for the class quickly.
