Hi all,

My slides are on Google Drive.  Don't be offput by the number of slides; they are as much a reference as a presentation tool.

Subject: [SGVLUG] SGVLUG Meeting Thu, Jul 11th: Distributed version control system and Mercurial

Reminder that there is a meeting this Thursday. I will present on DVCS and Mercurial. Apologies for the lame abstract. I hope the presentation will make up for that.
If Braddock makes it, I hope he can give us an update on Internet in a Box.
I should probably mention that the SGVHAK meetings (sgvhak.org) are increasing in frequency. They will be the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month and on the 4th Saturday afternoon from 3-6pm. Join the mailing list for updates. Much as with the SGVLUG, it's a lot more convenient to e-mail updates than to update the website.
SGVLUG meeting, Thu 07/11/2013 7-9pm
TOPIC: Distributed Version Control & Mercurial
PRESENTER: Lan Dang
LOCATION: Caltech - Downs 107. The Downs building is across from the tennis courts on California at Arden.
ABSTRACT:
Lan will talk about distributed version control systems (DVCS) with a focus on Mercurial. The talk will be suitable for both beginners and advanced users.
She will go over the basic concept behind DVCS, such as directed acyclic graphs. She will highlight some of the differences between Mercurial and git, the other popular DVCS. For the beginners, she will go over some basic Mercurial commands. For the advanced users, she will share some interesting case studies from work.

Thanks to Junaid for reserving Downs 107--we are confirmed through September!!
And thanks to James for updating the website. *hint*
