I hate when that happen but unavoidable.  What I started to do is keep a list of good recruiters vs. bad recruiters.  The good ones I will often refer my friends and/or colleagues to.  Bad ones, I also tell my friends/colleague to stay away.

Here are the 2 good ones I would highly recommend:

qconnects.com - ask for Evelina
SMCI in Glendale - ask for Elena Zacky

Subject: [SGVLUG] jobs jobs jobs and the recruiters who sell us

Hi,

So, I just wanted to remind everyone that some of these
recruiters are not very trust worthy.

Recently I have encountered one who basically was looking
for an IT engineer with all sorts of experience and wanted

to to see my resume before telling me anything about the
job. ( 12+ years of experience,.. )

The only thing I knew is that what they were willing to
pay was a bit low from the numbers I am seeing considering
the experience they wanted.

I'm guessing they've seen a job posting some place and
want to find a body to fill it, and will cold call the potential
client to get in.

This has me wonder HOW can I tell if the recruiter is worth
going through.

Any ideas?

thanks
matti
