Hi Arthur,

Were there errors in your dmesg during the install?  If so you can try
searching bugzilla.kernel.org with some of the error messages from the
dmesg.  You mentioned that it's a problem with the video chipset.
Were you able to install a distro with a text mode installer?  It
sounds like the problem might be more of an Xorg problem and not
specific to Linux although I'm not sure as I don't have that hardware.
