Yep.
Tom, you have the patience of a saint. I would have given up long
before such an ordeal.

As a DSLExtreme customer, I sometimes get mail "From: "DSL Extreme"
<noreply at dslextreme.com>". One of them stated
Being a DSL Extreme customer has its rewards like getting free
service just for spreading the savings to your friends and family.
In fact, every time you refer a friend who joins the DSL Extreme,
you'll both get up to a $20.00 credit towards your DSL Extreme
service.
I started a response to them:
A "noreply" From: address says condescendingly, "We don't trust you
to use email responsibly, so we won't listen to you on that channel
at all."
I would have continued to the effect that I would not have the
disrespect to wish such a thing upon a friend.
Never sent that mail of course (that would have been futile), but I
certainly sympathize with your frustration.
Incidentally, DSLExtreme also went SSL for their mail service and I
also use fetchmail for that mail, but the certificate is apparently
good, because I didn't have your authentication problem.
(However, I almost never use that email address. I take my mail
directly to this site by SMTP, so all DSLExtreme has to do is get the
IP packets to here.)
