Hmmm... since I'm already over here in Germany with my laptop, this is a little too late for me to do anything about it.  OTOH, this is a relatively new laptop, it ONLY has Linux on it, so there is very little "cruft" that has accumulated that I need worry about.  The last time I flew outside of the country, it was only on the return trip that I was asked to turn the computer on, which is similar to what some of the people commenting on the article mentioned.

One thing in the article caught my attention, though -- he suggested storing the data on DVD's and fed-ex'ing them to your destination (if they have "slow" connections there) -- I realize this could get into the plausible deny-ability area, but wouldn't that shipment be subject to search?  (I don't know what international shipping of DVD's entails...)
