let me throw the first stone!!

Business wise, for client applications, creating
your software to run on ms windows is a fairly
good choice as MS dominates the desktop platform.

However, i think for server side, and for hosted
solutions linux does offer some very compelling
reasons to port to linux.

I suspect it would have been easier for him
to port to linux from HPUX... (?was it HPUX?)
