Seems VW is planning to release a diesel electric hybrid for 2009

On another note, I got a kick seeing an all electric car, the GEM e2
(http://www.gemcar.com), drive by my bus stop in San Gabriel this morning.
I have now have had 4 distinct sightings of GEM cars in the past 12 months
or so. ...Now I really want to buy one :)
