Hard to say, without more information.
What kicked off this behavior, or did it start at boot time? Is
anything connected to the parallel port? Printer? Any mention of
parport0 in dmesg? Had you tried to do anything on the parallel port?
Does lsmod show any parport-related modules loaded? What happens if
you try to remove them?
