Obviously, none of us have girlfriends -- any girl will tell you that
ALL guys tend to overestimate when it comes to "size" -- but that's not
a topic worth going into here...

But Mike would be wrong -- Tom has actually /fired/ a .50 cal (though it
was a stationary mount, so details such as weight and recoil are still
foreign concepts)  Admittedly, I was more focused on what I was shooting
AT than what I was shooting WITH to remember details such as case
sizing... ;)

[what I was shooting AT was the side of a mountain /at least/ half a
mile away, perhaps more (remember that guestimating thing) with chains
of 5 shots, all tracers, and was mesmerized by the sheer beauty of
watching them fly straight and level...]
