I have several computers at home that the entire family uses but only
a few accounts - mine and the everyone else shares a guest account.
No one else is sharing files yet so I've been putting it off until the
kids get older.  For now, I just create my account first.

Anyway, as for the rsync backups, I've been using the package
maintained at http://www.rsnapshot.org/

There's even a link to how to backup windoze clients using cygwin
