[SGVLUG] Testing blank CDs

Here's something I apparently don't know how to do correctly--test a
CD-R(W) to verify that it is blank. Is there a nice option I missed in
cdrecord or cdda2wav that says "yep, it's blank" rather than failing to
do basic operations?

Or, hmm, what about cdrdao? I don't have it installed, I probably
should.

This came up because I needed to verify that some loose unlabeled disks
in the Box O' Linux are indeed blank.
