hmmm... perhaps I should clarify that -- it turns out this was my "primary" 
file server before I got "dave", which is now my web and file server.  As a 
result, "franky" is "just a backup" to "dave", and as such really isn't used 
for much anymore.

Thanks for the extra vote of confidence -- as it is, I think I have a line on 
a used one that is "gathering dust", and the whole thing will become a 
donation-chain: the computers that this will be replacing will be donated to 
my church -- seems the pastor doesn't like porn in his e-mail, so I'll be 
setting up something similar to what I've done for my parents: a "local" 
e-mail server that passes everything through spamassassin (and probably a 
virus scanner as well) and then makes it available via imap to 
locally-connected workstation/clients.
