I personally found "Linux Administration: A Beginner's Guide", Sixth
ed., by Wale Soyinka, to be very helpful. He explains how things
work very clearly, tells how to set up single-host administration,
and goes on from there. Good introduction to concepts, and you can
use it as a reference as you progress.
Sells for $24.66 at Amazon:
They have a bewildering array of Linux books to choose from, but I
happened on to an older edition of this one and liked it so much I
ordered one that was up to date.
Good luck!
