<table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" border="0"><tr><td valign="top" style="font: inherit;"><p>Took a bit of Googling to get to this discussion on the Debian mailing list, where one of the maintainers of net-tools lays out a plan to deprecate it in Debian. The hope is that other Linux distros will follow. The discussion is interesting. Part of the plan is to build wrappers to redirect the deprecated commands to the iproute equivalent.</p>
