I thought some on this list might be interested in this talk by
Chris Anderson on his new book: It's on BookTV (C-SPAN2) today, Nov.
3 at 1:45 Pacific time and again tomorrow at 8 PM PT. Here's a quick
synopsis:<br>
<br>
<span id="ctl00_ctl00_cphContentMainFrame_cphSubContentMainFrame_lblDescription">Chris
Anderson, editor-in-chief of <em>Wired </em>magazine, contends
that America is on the verge of a new industrial revolution
spurred by advances in computing. The author profiles a selection
of start-up industrialists, "makers," who are using social media,
crowd sourcing, and open source software to redefine American
industry and manufacturing. Chris Anderson speaks at the
Commonwealth Club of California in San Francisco. <br>
