I've been getting my batteries at DuVac/MarVac or what ever it is that they call themselves these days. They are on Colorado, east of PCC, same block as Game Empire, north side of the street. Best to bring the original so they can match the physical dimensions, voltage/mAh and especially the terminals. prices are okay. You can sometimes do better online but then you have to pay for shipping and those batteries are heavy.

There's a S.A.F.E. hazardous waste drop off site (pretty sure it's free) that LA Sanitation tuns on the weekends close to the Glendale Galleria. I'll try to pull the details for you when I get home, but it should be Google-able.

If you can open the UPS, I've found a lot of them use a bunch of 12V security alarm batteries. Not sure of exactly where to go that's cheap, but "The Shack" should have them, or at least we used to sell them when I still worked there 7 years ago. :P

Hi,

I wanted to reuse an older UPS which has a dead sealed lead acid battery ( a dead one ).
Do you have any recommendations for
1) source for new batteries?
2) place to recycle old battery?

thanks
