Hi,

Just wanted to share some of the research I have gathered:

1) There seems to be a shortage of senior level IT talent.
I'm guessing this is due to investment $ going into tech

( associated with the likes of fb going IPO .. )

2) VMs are major components to linux admin/engineering work

( VMware, Amazon, Xen, .. )

Some jobs seem to want just about everything also,
most of which you would expect as a Linux Admin
( apache, LAMP, Jboss, SVN, etc.. ) and some which
you would expect to see from an Linux Engineering position:

such as C/C++/Java skills.

Oddly, some companies are asking for the last 4 # of SSN!
They seem to want to use it for an identifier.. hmmm I personally
don't like that, as I can potentially get your complete SSN from that
if I know a little more about you.

Also, I found it really odd to be contacted by Indian recruiters whom
could not speak American English well enough for me to understand!
REALLY!! Come on, if you are going to out source that part, give that
job to someone we can understand!!

Anyways, if you are looking for work now, or looking to change your
job now, GO FOR IT. I have not seen the market this good for
tech jobs in a long time.

Good Luck
