Greetings to the main list -- I've posted an item to the Dev-sig list about a group that could use our help and expertise regarding Linux, and in return is offering the use of a fairly large room with many electrical outlets and a "better" [faster/more-stable] internet connection (and possibly even a few windows workstations in case you don't want to haul around a laptop)

The location is in Burbank, however -- yes, I know that makes it a san FERNANDO location rather than a san GABRIEL location -- but why quibble? I believe we have readers/contributors to this list that are nationwide if not worldwide, so why worry about whether the location of DEV-SIG is in this canyon or the next one farther west?

In any case, if anyone would like to help out, I'm suggesting holding the december DEV-SIG meeting in this location to check out the LAMP-based web server they are running and outline what we can do to make it run more efficiently. More details about the project can be found in the dev-sig archive (and I'll continue discussion on the dev-sig list)
