Does anyone know how to get Thunderbird to automatically move spam to
the Junk folder for messages that it deems is spam?

Under account settings I've tried to set the "move new junk messages
to: Junk folder on Local Folders" but I still get new messages which
Thunderbird marks as spam sitting in my Inbox.

Anyone else do that?

Thanks,
You should also consider a mysql database to hold per-user white/black
lists and other preferences.
IMAP is great for windows clients -- you can [should] create a "this is
spam you didn't catch" folder; users should drag their messages to this
folder, and in the background you run a cron job to add them to the spam
database. With IMAP, messages are moved "intact"; with POP, (A) you
don't have any such folder on the server, and (B) having users FORWARD a
message to a "this is spam..." address tends to munge the headers.

Subject: [SGVLUG] Good howto on spam fighting.
So I am tired of getting spam at my work email addresses, My
personal email the place where this message is coming from
Gmail does it for me.
Anyway sense I am the admin for work I have wanted to
implement spam filtering for awhile, maybe sense I am at it I
will do virus checking as well but that is of a lesser
concern. Any good howtos or recommendations. I am working
with postfix and virtual mailboxes and courier for imap/pop access.
