[SGVLUG] SGVLUG meeting this week 9/12 at IHOP

This week's  SGVLUG meeting will be at IHOP (880 S Arroyo Pkwy, Pasadena,
CA 91105)  on Thu Sep 12th, from 7pm to 9pm.  If you get there, see if you
can grab the back room.  We don't do reservations at IHOP, as they always
seem surprised to see us there, even when we warn them ahead of time.

1) No particular agenda for tonight's meeting.  I will bring the projector
in case anyone wants to do a lightning talk.

2) The Southern California Linux Expo <https://www.socallinuxexpo.org> has
opened the Call for Papers for next year's annual conference, March 6-9,
2025 at the Pasadena Convention Center. Submit your abstract

45-minute talk or workshop. The deadline is Nov 1, 2024. If you want to

3) If you know teens who are into open source software or technology, have
them submit to the SCALE Youth track

or 40 minute talks, workshops, poster sessions, or booths.

4) Hackaday Supercon 2024

be Nov 1-3, 2024 in Pasadena at the Supplyframe Design Lab.  The ticket
prices have gone up and the early bird tickets are long gone.  But they are
still looking for volunteers and you can sign up to apply through Sep
30th.  You need to work about 3x 4-hour shifts or 12 hours to get free
admission to the conference. Check out their Eventbrite for all the
