[SGVLUG] May SGVLUG + future meetings

Hi all,

We had a smaller turnout than usual at OpenX this month, which is a shame, because in addition to pizza, there was some nice food left over from a hackathon as well as a -lot- of beer in the fridge.  Much thanks to Akash for being our OpenX host this month and to Alan for helping with setup.


Much thanks to Rami for making the long drive out to give this talk, and thanks to everyone who contributed to the discussion.  It's really nice when a LUG member presents because it feels a lot more like an organic discussion than someone standing up at a lectern talking at us.  We learned a lot about open source licensing and compliance, including the importance of a copyright notice with a copyright year and copyright holder information.  One of the more amusing tangents was the revelation that there actually is a "Do What The F*** You Want To Public License" (http://www.wtfpl.net/), which is accepted by the FSF, but not OSI.

We announced that the annual SGVLUG/SGVHAK BBQ is scheduled for June 10th at my house, as usual.  The RSVP form will be posted before Memorial Day weeekend.  If y'all want to help me plan the BBQ, please drop me a line.  MPS has promised to use his Tetris skills to help me figure out the layout.

I've left the rest of the schedule open.  I'd like to solicit talks from the LUG to fill out the rest of the year.  I enjoy it when we meet at Du-Par's because we can just stay as long as we like; at hosted events, you'll notice I try to kick everyone out by 9:30pm so our hosts can close up and leave.  The drawback is that the wifi is unreliable and it can be noisy.
