My name is Genevieve Cawthorn and I work for SkySilk, a tech startup
based in the San Fernando Valley. We are currently looking for a Junior
System Administrator, preferably someone with at least 1 year of Linux

Jr. System Admin Position:

SkySilk is a fast growing tech startup based in the San Fernando Valley.
We are looking for someone to join our team as a Junior System
Administrator. The Junior System Administrator will be responsible for
system administration of our core servers including: deployment,
configuration, administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting Linux
and other *nix (FreeBSD) compute, storage, security, and networking
servers and network attached appliances. Further responsibilities
include researching, evaluating hardware configurations, and
project-oriented tasks.

Recent graduates are encouraged to apply. You do not have to be an
expert, but be able and willing to learn and excel.

Responsibilities:
• Configure, design and troubleshoot servers/network devices
• Identify, remedy, and document all events that negatively impact the
business. 
• Create process changes to avoid recurrence or document corrective
action as required
• Identify single points of failure in the server environment and assist
in strategy to minimize or eliminate
• Contribute to SkySilk Business Continuity Planning/Disaster Recovery
efforts 
• Responsible for day to day network operations
• Capitalize on opportunities to contribute- integrate ideas and
collaborates well with others
• Take on projects to research, test, prove, and implement new ideas and
solutions

Qualifications:
• 1 or more years of Linux admin Network/Server Infrastructure
experience or similar/related experience
• Strong troubleshooting/problem solving skills
• Experience with network monitoring tools a plus

Desired Expertise/Skills:
• Shell scripting
• One or more of KVM/oVirt/XEN/VMWare/HyperV
• LDAP/AD directory management
• SAN/NAS/DA/Convergence Storage
• Router/switch management (any switch OS will do)
• Networking Security
