BJ: Hey that is extremely disappointing. Using WiFi is the main
non-Nerdy thing to be done with Linux - like at the public library,
etc. How can one get started with non-Nerdy Linux without WiFi?

Bob

I don't think there is any wifi at this venue, so please plan accordingly.

I also have an 80" portable projection screen on a tripod, but it has a really large footprint--the legs have to spread out a lot for stability, I think. Thanks to John, I can mount my projectors to a tripod, which gives us flexibility about where we can put the projector and the screen.

However, I am concerned that we might have to run extension cords and possibly a trip hazard. Do we need gaffer tape?

Dan Buthusiem will help you get an idea of what Linux is, and how to get
started with it in a totally non-committal way. Learn how to use Linux
the same way you would use your computer of choice to do non-nerd
things, like email, along with a few potentially nerdy things along the
way.

Recommended Materials:
*  1 laptop
* 1 empty USB drive of at least 4 GB (8 or more preferred)

Join us for dinner and presentations. Dinner begins and 7 pm and any
