I have not heard of such a scam.

"normal" phone number?? 


Did they leave you their contact information?
If so you should be able to find out more about
whom they are.

Anyone seen anything like the following fairly targeted scamosity? ...

Today I got several calls on my zaplee hosted # leaving voice mails asking for me by last name. No "Mr." or anything, just "Morison...Hello?"

An hour later, I started to get emails something like

number...I'm trying to get in contact with you.
