Edmunds.com’s Application Operations team is seeking a bright and
motivated developer who will write monitoring and automation tools to
aid in the on-going support of our production application services.
This person will ensure that all technologies work effectively
together to deliver reliable and high-performing services.

The ideal candidate must be driven, innovative, detail oriented, and
eager to work with the latest technologies along with a strong desire
to maintain and help improve Edmunds’ applications and supporting
services.  He/she will possess excellent analytical skills, have solid
experience with at least one programming or scripting language, and be
a strong problem solver.

What You’ll Do:
• Develop monitoring and automation tools to improve reliability and
performance of the website
• Partner closely with various operations and engineering teams to
support and manage scalable applications and infrastructure
• Serve as a technical escalation point for critical production issues
and drive problem resolution
• Provide support for analyzing application-level configuration and
performance issues
• Participate in technical reviews an operational acceptance exercises
for development initiatives
• Become proficient in understanding software components, design and
configuration within Edmunds’ environment.
• Participate in duties to support 24x7 operations

What You Need:
• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Computer Science or technical field of study
• Experience working with UNIX/LINUX systems and applications
• Strong organization and multi-tasking abilities
• Ability to quickly learn and implement unfamiliar technologies
• Strong scripting skills (Bash, Perl, Python, etc.)
• Networking, security, and storage experience are a plus
• Some level of experience with Java development environments
