summary - good quality designers hard to find, so much so that wages/salary is up,
and companies buy other companies for their talent ( "acq-hires" - Acquisition Hires ) 
still not enough quality people.

note while this is not in the story above, the hiring companies are not just 

competing against other companies but also
competing against their potential hires' OWN startups.
