[SGVLUG] any android tablet made in a democratic country

All this talk about android programming has piqued my interest, enough to want 
to go out and buy one.    


Are there any android tablets made/assembled in democratic countries, ie Taiwan, 
Malaysia, Korea, or Japan?  


I know this is a bit of a lost cause, but I am typing away on a US assembled 
thinkpad T43p, and before that a Japan assembled thinkpad 42p.  Yes, the 
components are mostly made in China, but it does offer a glimmer of hope.
