Subject: [SGVLUG] SOPA Workarounds?
I still have a hard time grasping the fact the SOPA bill could actually happen, but if it does it is nice to have some workarounds. Here are two Firefox add-ons Ive read about...
I had been using Chrome/Chromium for a while, but recently switched back to Mozilla Firefox because they have chosen to take a stance against SOPA and have even asked DHS questions that have gone unanswered... http://www.scribd.com/doc/54218316/Questions-to-Department-of-Homeland-Security-April-19-2011
One of my biggest reasons for switching to linux 5 years ago was for freedom and privacy. The community here has been such a great bonus!
Hopefully freedom will prevail and the bill doesnt become law. Educating people about SOPA should be our first step, but it doesnt hurt to be prepared either.
Best, Dave
