[SGVLUG] backing up digital pictures while on travel

Hey guys,

I'm going on vacation next month and I'd like to not have to lug my
laptop. Before I needed it for geocaching but now I can do that with
my iPhone. About the only other thing I can think of is backing up
pictures from the memory cards. I usually copy everything to the
laptop as well as an external USB hard drive so on the flight home,
everything is packed in different suitcases or carry-on luggage so we
have redundant copies of everything. If possibly I even try to rsync
stuff home every night.

What do people do when they are on travel? Can anyone recommend some
kind of device that will copy a memory card to either another memory
card or preferably an external or internal hard drive?

Oh, does anyone use any of the those mini GPS datalogers that all they
do is log where you have been so you can geotag pictures when you get
back? One guy recommends the Holux M-241 which uses a single AA
battery for all day but it runs like $63 at Amazon.
