So I noticed :)  no point in sending a "friend" request that way, eh? ;)

Anyway, it doesn't HAVE to be a facebook group - it could be a standalone "ning" site, or a group on any other "network" - the point is that I'd like to get the people who are actively promoting or managing local groups together in SOME forum to discuss things like how to get people to speak, what topics to cover, etc.  As such, facebook is the site I'm using the most (at the moment) and going this route spares me from the hassle of setting up a discussion forum, user management, e-mail listserve, etc. on my own website/server.
