A little of both -- if the dollar and Euro were on par at 1:1, this
still works out to $6/gallon. I'm not sure, but I think I heard my
friend say that the taxes on gasoline worked out to nearly 80 (euro)
cents per litre (i.e., 3.20/gallon)
