[SGVLUG] Announcement of the LiLAX April 2008 meeting

We have a very special guest this coming month. Neil Cherry of
www.linuxha.com author of Linux Home Automation 
for dummies will be speaking to LiLAX over a remote link. 

Sending this out to the various local LUGs as it's a very special guest.
Please pass this on to anyone you know interested in Linux, home automation,
community etc. We have a large capacity room (could probably hold around 70
people) and ample FREE parking as well.

Afterwards we will head to lunch. Any suggestions for a lunch place are
welcome.


Speaker BIO:

Neil Cherry has been working with computers, computer electronics, and
software since 1978. He has been playing with X10 since 1982. He began
automating his home in 1992 when a friend gave him an X10 computer
interface,
and he started the Linux Home Automation Web site (www.linuxha.com) in
1996. When he's not riding his bicycle or playing with home automation, he
works for AT&T Research Lab South, Middletown, NJ, as a Test Engineer. You

Topic Overview:
An introduction to using Linux for Home Automation.  Simple-to-use
software and hardware components are readily available, at low cost,
to automatically control systems and appliances in the home to provide
comfort, security, and more.  The speaker will discuss the technology,
standards, products, options, and how to get started in automating your
home with Linux.
