[SGVLUG] dependency issues/hell

hello,

i've just installed Kubuntu, and am trying to install Krusader but I  
keep running into dependency problems
when i use apt-get. and in adept, I try install it, but it does  
nothing. I have also tried installing Firefox too, but ran
into similar problems... but for some reason if I type firefox in the  
prompt i can run it, but it doesn't show up in my
applications menus... kinda confused

does anyone know a good way to resolve dependency issues?
