Geeze, Jason, don't get me started. You know how hard it is for me to
ignore the bait. :-)

I hate people who think that everything people do is at the pleasure of
the government and can be regulated or banned. I hate people who invent
new government intrusions into private lives.

I hate people who think the decisions I make for my pets to be any
business of theirs whatsoever. I hate people who think the decisions I
make for my pets to be any business of the governments, so long as I am
responsible for what they do.

I hate people who can lie with a straight face and even brainwash
themselves into thinking that removing crucial developmental endocrine
glands during adolescence, let alone childhood, has no effects. I hate
people who think they have any business to be part of that medical
decision between me and my vet, or even to know what the decision is. I
hate people who think the government has any business to be part of that
medical decision between me and my vet, or even to know what the
decision is, so long as I am responsible for what my pets do.

I hate people who tell naked lies on the Assembly floor about how many
animals are euthanized in CA each year. I hate people who tell naked
lies about the demographics of euthanized animals. I hate people who
tell naked lies about the fact that mandatory spay/neuter *never* works,
because it has little to do with where shelter animals come from.

I hate people who give free regulatory monopolies to private for-profit
breed registries (AKC, UKC, ...). I hate people who think that animals
not registered with one of those vestigal organs of the Victorian
eugenics movement are somehow of less value than those which are. I
hate people who think that AKC recognition, a virtual guarantee of
genetic handicaps, means more than the registries of, for example, the
actual working dog registries. I hate people who want to write the
genetically indefensible myth of "purebreeds" into law.

And most of all I hate people who tell naked lies and deny their actual
agenda: they don't want companion animals to exist, period. That is
what the bill is about, though it's disguised.

And, as a consequence of the above, I hate the terrorist organizations
that style themselves under the rubric of "animal rights."

However, sometime when I'm not feeling my usual shy, polite self I'll
tell you what I *really* think. :-)

Dustin, an unwilling inmate of the People's Republic of California
