[SGVLUG] Edubuntu vs. "just ubuntu"

I have an opportunity to "ressurect" a computer for a 6-year old -- her
mom has lost the windows 98 "certificate" with the 25-digit key, and
"the dang thing never worked right anyway..."  [or words to that
effect...]

So I'm thinking of putting on "Edubuntu" -- for those of you familiar
with Ubuntu/Edubuntu, was there a problem (or is there?) recently with
the "nightly build" page?  Over the weekend, I tried to download the
.iso, and instead of the expected 4-gig file, I got something that was a
little over 7 megabytes.  (OK, admittedly this was also really early in
the morning -- 2:00 am or so -- could the rebuild have been "in the
process of building"?)  

Also, it wasn't entirely clear if what I was downloading was "just the
regular Ubuntu" iso or "the edubuntu specific variation" -- how can I
tell the difference between these?
