[SGVLUG] Another Bootloader Question

I'm running Suse 9.3 Pro on a Dell P3. I wanted to switch to Ubuntu 6.06. After installing it won't go. I think it's hung up on the bootloader issue. I remember when I installed Suse I had to pick Lilo as my bootloader (the default was Grub) in order to complete the install. I don't seem to have a choice on this Ubuntu disc. I'm assuming the bios is incompatible with Grub. Can I use any linux boot disc or does it have to be one I make with Ubuntu?
