Did you catch this item in the story:
"...and he cited an amusement park's usage of RFID tags in dolls

I wonder if they can (or do) "piggy-back" off of other RFID tags you may
have -- your Mobil "fastpass" dongle, or say your employee badge [yup,
mines got one, and I'm only a contractor here...] and fairly soon I'd
image one or more of your credit cards...
Somewhere I saw an item being promoted as a "secure" wallet --
basically, metal-lined so it blocks RFID signals. You have to
physically open it to allow any rfid-embedded cards you're carrying,
including (believe it or not) any recently issued PASSPORTS (hey, are
drivers licenses next?) [one person pointed out that new rfid-based
passports DO come with a "security" sleeve that is basically the same
thing, but unless you're told, would you have known?]
