[SGVLUG] Looking for laptop recommendations (for my mom...)

Mother's day is around the corner, and all she wants this year is advice
 on which laptop to buy :)

She will be using windows [she will be using this for genealogy research
where almost all, if not actually all, programs are written for windows,
save of course for browsing genealogy websites...] and she'll want
wireless (which is the easy part to fulfill -- I don't think you can get
one without wireless nowadays...)  size and weight are important, as
well as battery life (whether she knows it or not)

I'll be helping her shop this weekend, but between now and then, any
words of advice as well as sob/success stories you may have to offer are
greatly appreciated.
