[SGVLUG] Meeting (and after-meeting) this week

I just received word from our presenter confirming he will be there.  The topic will be introductory Java and the use of IBM's Eclipse "IDE" [development environment].

After the meeting, about a dozen of us head for Burger Continental for an extended discussion on either the presentation itself, or else something esoteric like extended deep-sea diving, fan-fic horror stories, religious fanatacism in backwater territories, things "mythbuster" should do [and as I recently saw, actually did -- the "finger in the barrel" trick used in a variety of cartoons], and so on -- yes, these are actual discussions held after the meeting!

For those that actually attend the after-meeting, I'd like to propose a different venue, either this month or next (and, of course, provided they are open late enough -- I have an e-mail to them right now to check...)  The place is called "Barn Burner BBQ" and it is on south Fair Oaks just past where the "John Bull" used to be (it is now, >ahem< an "El Chollo" restaurant)  They do have a website, www.barnburnerbbq.com.  I stopped by there after our Devsig meeting last saturday and I found the place to be quite nice.  The primary reasons for suggesting this are (a) it should be less noisy [don't have to compete with the band & belly-dancer], and (b) it smells nicer [for those that have stood outside till 2:00 am, you know what I'm talking about...]

This won't necessarilly be permanent -- just wanted to suggest it to "try at least once" and see what the reaction is.
