Hi,

Remember, it looks like the battle front has
moved to the webservices area from what I
can tell

with MS strong push on .NET - which they seem
to hope only to run on windows server, and only
the be 100% compatible with windows/ie clients.

Hence why the Mono project is an interesting
one.

in effect if MS is able to dominate the webservices
infrastructure then the could win the web.

privacy - having read the database nation (an O Reilly book)

I don't know if blaming google is ..hmm.."proper" - afteral,
if it wasn't google - it would be someone else...
(MS search?) - personally I can think of far worse
players than google at this time to be in the
lead of search (imagine having the wonderful folks
who are in charge of the credit industry - the
same ones who just junked our former bankrupsty
laws... )

cheap cpus, disks, and the network results in
the tech ability to reduce privacy - our congress
folks passing bad laws the main fault imho.

best
matti
